Acoustics
There are two types of commercial carpet backing: hardback and cushion. We believe strongly that cushion backing is the best choice — so much so that we use WellBAC™ cushion backing on all of our carpet tile products, as standard.
Milliken's cushion-backed tiles provide significant acoustic advantages. Switching from a hard to a soft surface can significantly reduce noise generation and transmission. But it doesn't stop here - Milliken cushion backing absorbs 60% more noise and transmits 50% less noise than hardback carpet.

Flooring is one of the biggest structural components affecting interior acoustics.
